Return to Riege: Gebrüder Weiss convinced of Scope ATLAS
Shaping the future of mobility and delivering the best supply chain solutions with minimal environmental impact for the success of their customers. With more than 500 years of history, Gebrüder Weiss is one of the most experienced logistics companies in the world. Today, with over 8000 highly qualified employees, they are active in all logistics disciplines: Land transportation, air and sea freight, logistics solutions, digital services and supply chain management. This enables them to find comprehensive and international concepts for their customers' procurement and distribution channels.
The extensive range of services offered by Gebrüder Weiss is rounded off by professional customs services and IT services. In this way, they offer their customers a comprehensive all-round package. To ensure that this remains the case, the systems used are regularly put to the test. If one of the systems no longer meets future requirements, the solution is clear: a quick change. A few years ago, dissatisfaction with the old system for customs declarations grew and so the company started looking for a new system. In the process, they came across an old acquaintance...
"The old system did no longer meet our requirements."

Ready for use within four weeks
Scope is widely known in the industry as forwarding and customs software and is popular with large and small transport companies. Gebrüder Weiss quickly became aware of Scope: "One criterion in the decision was the good reputation of Riege and Scope. The specialist knowledge of the support staff also played an important role, as they had often previously worked in a freight forwarding company and therefore know exactly what issues we deal with in our daily operations and how we can implement these in the best possible way with Scope. Especially in the area of customs, the knowledge of the business consultants is very comprehensive. The decision was therefore easy for us and we were pleasantly surprised at how quickly the changeover worked. Scope was up and running in just four weeks," says Werner Dettenthaler.
Back to the roots
But this was not the first encounter between the two companies. The relationship between Gebrüder Weiss and Riege is not new; it goes back to the days of Procars. Even back then, in the early days of the partnership, the family-run company from Austria was looking for an efficient solution for customs declarations. The choice fell on the predecessor of Scope. In 2011, the company switched to another provider after many years of successful collaboration. More than ten years later, the transport company is now returning to Riege. A decision that makes both sides happy.
"We are proud to call a company with such a great tradition as Gebrüder Weiss our customer. It is no coincidence that the corporate values of Gebrüder Weiss also reflect our values to a large extent. We also strive to operate sustainably and are proud of our independence. Besides our values, we are delighted that our software and our service are a perfect fit for Gebrüder Weiss,"
– Tobias Riege, CEO of Riege Software
